Psalm 37:3-5

El Shaddai,
There is none like You;
You are the One true living God;
You are over all.
Lord, You are trustworthy.
Teach my child that You can be trusted and to trust You fully.
Teach him/her what is good and
help him/her to do good.
May s/he engage in the world around him/her with Your Truth
and befriend faithfulness.
May s/he delight [him/her]self in You
and find within [him/her]self a changed heart filled with right desires
and Your hand faithful to satisfy every one.
Lord, help him/her commit his/her way to You
and walk in the faith that You will act on his/her behalf.
You are over all,
may my child rejoice that You are over him/her.
Clinging to Jesus,
Amen.

John 14:6

Jesus,
You are the Way, the Truth and the Life.
You have said that no one comes to the Father except through You.
May my child believe Your words to be true;
may s/he walk in the Way,
bank his/her life on the Truth
and delight in the Life
that is found only in You.
Jesus, be his/her everything;
may s/he approach the Father with freedom
through Your cross.
In Your priceless name I pray,
Amen.

Micah 6:8

Father,
I praise You for Your heart for Your creation.
I praise You that You tell us what is good
and that You desire good for us and from us.
I praise You that it is of such value to our world
that You require it.
May my child understand what You declare to be good with his/her mind
and desire that good with his/her heart.
Lord, may s/he do justice;
may s/he love kindness;
and may s/he walk humbly with You.
May his/her life honor You because s/he does what is good in Your eyes.
All to You,
Amen.

Psalm 27:4

Father God,
Give my child a heart that joins with the Psalmist in crying out,
“ONE THING...”
One thing, Lord. Let it be You!
May s/he ask for You, seek after You, long to dwell with You
every day of his/her life.
May s/he desire the beauty of Your face
and the joy of Your presence.
Fill him/her with the singular desire for You
and then for more of You
and more of You
until the moment s/he is with You forever.
One thing, Lord. Let it be You.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen

Psalm 1:1–3

Heavenly Father,
I lift my child up to You.
Lord, let him/her be blessed.
Help him/her walk in Your counsel, and not in the counsel of the wicked.
Help him/her stand in Your way, and not in the way of sinners.
Help him/her sit with You, and not in the seat of scoffers.
May s/he delight in Your law and meditate on Your words day and night.
Make him/her like a tree planted by streams of living water,
yielding fruit in due season, with leaves that never wither.
Prosper my child as s/he walk with You.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen

Jeremiah 29:11–13

Lord,
I praise You for the plans You have for my child;
I praise You that they are plans of peace and not of evil
to give him/her a future and a hope.
May s/he be one who comes to You
and prays to You and who You listen to;
who seeks You and finds You because s/he searches for You
with all of his/her heart.
I bless You and in Your name I pray.
Amen.

Proverbs 2:1–15

Heavenly Father,
May my child receive Your words,
may s/he treasure Your commandments,
may his/her ear be attentive to wisdom
and his/her heart inclined to understanding;
may s/he call out for insight.
Lord, let him/her treasure Your Truth like silver and
search for it as though it is the greatest of treasures.
Lord, may s/he understand what it is to fear You
and find in his/her pursuits the knowledge of You.
Father, I thank You that You give wisdom,
that Your mouth pours out knowledge and understanding;
may my child hear Your voice with clarity,
may s/he find in Your words the Truth of what it means to be righteous,
what it is to seek justice and equity,
and how to discern every good path.
May Your wisdom and knowledge fill his/her heart and delight his/her souls;
may it prove to be sufficient in delivering him/her from the way of evil.
In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen.
